We have refocused our Beaujolais Nouveau Celebration and we are excited to bring you a high end wine tasting limited to just 40 people. On Thursday, November 19th we will bring you the tasting event of the year. The evening will consist of a reception from 6:30pm-7pm where everyone will receive one full glass of Georges Deboeuf - ‘Extended Barrel Aged’ - Beaujolais Nouveau. At 7pm we will begin a wine tasting consisting of five different HIGH END French wines including the famous Coulee de Serrant and Chateau Beaucastel - Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Every single wine on the ballot is a 90+ pointer and some have been on the Wine Spectators Top 100 Wines of the World. Tickets are just $40 and will include a full glass of the Nouveau, a sit down tasting of some of the most famous wines of France and a bread & cheese side. This is one you do not want to miss. Since we had to place our order for the Nouveau already we only have enough for 40 people, which means we are limiting this unbelievable value to just 40 people. This is the tasting of the decade; you won’t want to miss it. Call 320.492.3390 today to purchase your tickets or click HERE to order them online. We have never released the names of the wines we will be tasting, however the wines speak for themselves. Here is a list of the wines we will be tasting for the Nouveau Celebration. Retail value for each bottle is between $40 and $150+ a bottle. Marcel Deiss - Riesling - Alsace "Pale, bright yellow. Very pure nose hints at menthol and crushed stone. Pure and concentrated, with a texture and ripeness of fruit that come as a surprise after the reticent nose. The lime flavor nicely combines verve and subtle sweetness. Finishes brisk and persistent." -Stephen Tanzer, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar - 90 Points
Nicolas Joly - Coulee de Serrant - Savennieres, Loire “Restrained, but very pure and focused, with a beam of ginger, quince and persimmon flavors that ripple through a minerally finish. Deceptively long. Rather tight now, so cellar to let the precision blossom. Best from 2008 through 2021. 2,080 cases made” - Wine Spectator - 92 points
Joseph Drouhin - Volnay, Burgundy “A mix of herbs and wild berry flavors highlight this light-weight, elegant red, which is sappy and fresh, with enough structure to allow it to develop. Nice length. Best from 2011 through 2021. 23 cases imported.” - Wine Spectator - 90 points
Chateau Beaucastel - Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rhone “Powerful, with a round, almost creamy core of blackberry and raspberry fruit all layered with cocoa, sweet toast, mesquite and fig paste. Long and rich through the finish. Still quite primal, with lots in reserve. Best from 2010 through 2030.” - Wine Spectotor - 95 points (top 100 wine - in the world)
Baumard - Quarts de Chaume - Loire “This has a very powerful, concentrated core of almond, white peach, honeysuckle, mineral and candied lemon peel, but all is meshed perfectly together on a creamy, porcelain texture and glides effortlessly through the finish. Extremely long and finely detailed. A worthy rival to the slightly purer '02. Best from 2007 through 2030. 1,250 cases made” - Wine Spectator - 96 points
Georges Deboeuf - ‘Extended Barrel Aged’ - Beaujolais Nouveau - Burgundy “The good news is that Duboeuf Nouveau is consistently good.” - The Wall Street Journal |
